IoT – Tracking Emergency Service Equipment to Improve Patient Safety

Challenge

Emergency services need to track vital equipment carried on their vehicles. Equipment goes missing while attending emergency incidents, or when left with a patient admitted to the hospital.

Solution

TeraCode delivered a solution tracking 11 critical items per vehicle, across the fleet, providing full visibility on inventory levels onboard and in stock.

Technology

The system designed and developed by TeraCode uses RFID tags on the equipment, sending data through on-vehicle gateways and to the cloud, with user-friendly reporting via a UI.

Outcome

This solution ensures vital equipment is sent where it’s needed, when it’s needed. That provides best quality patient care and save lives. Automated tracking also saves significant cost and time (in vehicle preparation, for example).
