IoT – Developing Apps for Cold Chain Logistics

Challenge

This global leader in HVACR manufacturing needed a partner to assist with the development of an application to allow remote access to container refrigeration units.

Solution

TeraCode designed a mobile app for drivers and logistics management that remotely monitors the current and historical status of these truck and/or tractor trailer units.

Technology

Development was done in Ionic, a cross-platform technology enabling iOS and Android apps with a single codebase. Bluetooth 5 was used to report refrigeration data in Beacon or BLE modes.

Outcome

There has been a decrease in overall transport time, and this paves the way for developing predictive models that will reduce refrigeration failures and maintain the integrity of the cold chain.
